Release: Slack CLI v4.12.0

Version 4.12.0 of the Slack CLI is here!

  • We've added the slack skill command and the slack --skill flag, so coding agents can read the Slack CLI skill straight from the CLI. The output is the same slack-cli skill as in the Slack Skills Plugin, matched to the installed CLI version, with no plugin install needed.
  • We've added a check to the slack install and slack run commands that stops before creating an app on an Enterprise organization when the app manifest doesn't set "org_deploy_enabled": true, and explains how to fix it. Before, the app installed but never received events. See enabling organization-wide installation.
  • We fixed an issue where the slack app install and slack deploy commands cleared an app's Work Object embed settings (domain_allowlist, allow_same_origin, slug.hide_display_id) and dropped rich_previews.is_active: false from its manifest.
  • We fixed an issue where slack api --method GET form-encoded key=value arguments and --data into a request body. They are now sent as query parameters, with the token in the Authorization header. Requests without a body are also now sent with Content-Length: 0 instead of an empty chunked body.
  • We fixed an issue where Python projects that list slack_cli_hooks, or another spelling of slack-cli-hooks, in requirements.txt or pyproject.toml got a second slack-cli-hooks<1.0.0 dependency added by the slack create and slack init commands.
