Release: Slack Skills Plugin v1.7.0

You can now install each Slack Skills Plugin release in Claude Code as soon as it ships, from the plugin's own marketplace.

  • We've added a Claude Code marketplace for the plugin. It installs from the latest release tag, and each new release moves it to the new tag. Install from it with:

    /plugin marketplace add slackapi/slack-skills-plugin
    /plugin install slack@slack

  • The slack-cli skill now tells your agent to suggest slack upgrade when a command or flag it describes is missing from your installed CLI.

  • The agent setup prompt now updates an existing Slack plugin install instead of skipping it, and always follows the latest create-slack-app skill, so agents with an older install get the current setup steps.

  • We fixed an issue where skills referred to each other as slack:slack-cli, a name only Claude Code registers. Hand-offs between skills now work on every install path, including agents set up with npx skills.

  • We fixed an issue where agents like OpenCode checked PATH for slack themselves instead of loading the slack-cli skill first, which could find a different tool with the same name and fall back to curl.
